Jakarta, October 11, 2025 – The Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2025 officially concluded its second day with concrete achievements, including thirteen memoranda of understanding and three Letters of Intent (LoIs), along with investment commitments totaling IDR 278.33 trillion, equivalent to USD 17.4 billion. These achievements mark the success of ISF 2025 as a strategic forum that not only brought together ideas, but also mobilized real cross-sector collaboration to accelerate Indonesia’s transition toward a green economy.
“This IDR 278 trillion commitment is the result of cross-sector synergy that has been built since the first day of ISF. This is not only about numbers, but about a new direction for economic development that is greener, more inclusive, and more resilient,” said Nurul Ichwan, Deputy for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, during the closing remarks of ISF 2025.
Nurul explained that, from an investment perspective, the total value of the agreed cooperation reflects strong confidence in the direction of Indonesia’s economic transformation. He added that most of these investment commitments will be realized gradually through green energy projects, sustainable supply chain development, and industrial decarbonization initiatives.
Echoing this sentiment, Deputy for Basic Infrastructure Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development and Chair of the ISF 2025 Organizing Committee, Rachmat Kaimuddin, emphasized that ISF 2025 demonstrated Indonesia’s commitment to being at the forefront of global sustainable development. According to him, the forum was not merely a platform for exchanging ideas, but also a venue to ensure that collaboration among stakeholders truly results in concrete action.
“ISF 2025 has become a platform for collaboration between the government, business sector, and academia. The investment achievements and cooperation generated through this forum demonstrate international confidence in Indonesia’s sustainability policy direction, while also strengthening the foundation of a resilient and inclusive green economy. The enthusiasm of more than 12,500 participants from 61 countries also reflects the world’s strong attention to Indonesia’s efforts in leading the transition toward sustainable development,” he explained.
The forum also highlighted green projects that will soon be launched, such as Waste-to-Energy initiatives in 33 cities across Indonesia. These projects have attracted interest from 192 global companies. This reflects the collaborative spirit that has been built since the first day of ISF 2025, with the second day serving as a momentum for implementation, as high-level discussions were transformed into concrete action through strategic cooperation and cross-sector investment.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairwoman Coordinator for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development at KADIN Indonesia, Shinta W. Kamdani, emphasized that the business sector has now become the main driver of Indonesia’s national green transformation. According to her, green investment not only strengthens economic growth, but also opens major opportunities for job creation, supply chain strengthening, and MSME empowerment.
“ISF 2025 shows that Indonesia’s business sector is ready to collaborate in advancing the green economy. With the support of conducive policies, sustainable industrial transformation will deliver real benefits for the wider community,” she explained.
Over the course of two days, the forum, organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Indonesia), featured a series of activities including panel discussions, thematic sessions, high-level dialogues, exhibitions, a science corner, and networking meetings. The Science Corner involved leading universities such as Universitas Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Institut Pertanian Bogor, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, and Universitas Gadjah Mada, showcasing sustainable research and technological innovations developed by Indonesian talents.
